Fighting the good fight

Writer's picture: D E Wasake Esq.D E Wasake Esq.

6 months ago I lost my job or rather I quit my job following a direct command from the Lord. This was an unbelievable command from the Lord which required all my faith - perhaps like Abraham who was asked to sacrifice his only son, Isaac.

The Lord had never asked me to do something like this in all my 20 years, BUT I obeyed. I lay on the altar together with job and died.

Now, I reasoned that like Isaac, the Lord would bring me back to life, so to speak and I would find another job quickly – perhaps in about 1 month? Wrong, it took over 6 months for the Lord’s purposes for me to be fulfilled.

How did I overcome as the bills piled and the rent became due, as the depression set in and the doubts came? More importantly, what lessons can you learn to overcome when your own fight of faith comes?
